Home Visits

Wound Care Consultants provide private wound-care advice and clinical support to clients and their home support team if they have one.

We are passionate about balancing effective wound healing with quality of life.

We understand that living with a wound can have a significant impact, not only physically but also emotionally.

Pain, odour, swelling, infection, and the distress of a wound that does not appear to be progressing are all areas within our expertise.

We can visit you in your own home to assess your wound and individual needs, and we are very happy to be involved in your care. We will work with you to manage these challenges, with the aim of supporting wound healing while also improving your comfort, wellbeing,  and overall quality of life.

Please send us an email with your questions and we will answer directly.

Complete Wound Care Services

Wound Care Consultants provide specialist support to care homes and nursing homes, offering expert assessment, education and advice on residents’ wounds and on preventing pressure ulcers. Our aim is to strengthen staff confidence, improve clinical decision-making and ensure residents receive safe, effective, evidence-based care. We offer both in-person visits and digital assessments through Zoom or Teams, allowing rapid access to specialist guidance even when a physical visit is not possible.

This flexibility means homes can receive timely wound reviews, treatment recommendations and prevention strategies without delay. Our reputation with care homes is excellent, built on clear communication, reliable support and consistently strong clinical outcomes. Our wound-healing success rate is extremely high, reflecting thorough assessment, best-practice treatment planning and ongoing collaboration with care staff to optimise residents’ comfort and wellbeing.

Our consultancy service includes expert review of wound-care practices, audit of documentation and treatment pathways, and guidance on service development to ensure compliance with best-practice and governance frameworks.

We work collaboratively with hospital teams to identify areas for improvement, streamline protocols and implement evidence-based approaches that enhance healing rates and patient comfort. Education is central to our work: we deliver tailored training sessions for nurses and clinicians on wound assessment, dressing selection, pressure-ulcer prevention and infection management.

Post Surgery

Post-operative wound care following suture removal or surgery focuses on protecting the healing tissue, preventing infection and promoting comfort. Once sutures are removed, the wound edges are usually well-approximated but still fragile, so gentle handling is essential. The area should be kept clean and dry for the first 24–48 hours, using mild soap and water rather than antiseptics unless clinically indicated. A light, non-adherent dressing may be applied to protect the site from friction or contamination.

Patients should monitor for redness, swelling, discharge or increased pain, which may indicate infection. Moisturising surrounding skin helps prevent dryness and tension on the scar, while avoiding stretching or heavy movement supports tissue strength. Good nutrition, hydration and rest further enhance recovery. Regular review ensures healing progresses smoothly and complications are addressed promptly.

Our consultancy service includes expert review of wound-care practices, audit of documentation and treatment pathways, and guidance on service development to ensure compliance with best-practice and governance frameworks.

We can also provide a remote service for hospital wards should they wish.
